Member Profile

This is "The Multimedia Signal Processing and Security Lab", short WaveLab, website. We are a research group at the Artificial Intelligence and Human Interfaces (AIHI) Department of the University of Salzburg led by Andreas Uhl. Our research is focused on Visual Data Processing and associated security questions. Most of our work is currently concentrated on Biometrics, Media Forensics and Media Security, Medical Image and Video Analysis, and application oriented fundamental research in digital humanities, individualised aquaculture and sustainable wood industry.

About Me:

    I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Salzburg in the Department of Computer Sciences. I obtained my PhD and MSc in 2010 and 2007, respectively. My PhD research focussed on statistical models of wavelet filter responses (of natural and textured images) with applications in retrieval, watermarking or computer-aided diagnosis. From 2011 to 2013, I spent two years with Kitware Inc., NC, USA, where I worked on Open-Source projects such as TubeTK as well as a variety of research topics in the areas of medical imaging and computer vision (mostly in a recognition context).
