Member Profile

This is "The Multimedia Signal Processing and Security Lab", short WaveLab, website. We are a research group at the Computer Sciences Department of the University of Salzburg headed by Andreas Uhl. The short name "WaveLab" already indicates that wavelets are among our favorite tools - we have 15 years of experience in this area. Our research is focused on Multimedia Security including Watermarking, Image and Video Compression, Medical Image Classification, and Biometrics.

About Me:
I am a PhD student at the Department of Computer Sciences at Salzburg University and a member of the Multimedia Signal Processing and Security Lab headed by Ao. Univ. Prof. Dr. Andreas Uhl. Currently I am working on multimodal biometric recognition with a focus on iris biometrics in unconstrained environments. Since 1998 I have acted as a freelance programmer. I am a lecturer at Salzburg University (starting in Fall 2008) and at Fachhochschule Salzburg - University of Applied Sciences (starting in Spring 2009). Since 2001 I have been holding courses at the Pädagogische Hochschule Salzburg (teacher training college, former Pädagogisches Institut Salzburg) for Multimedia / Programming Languages. I am a member of Wildnet, a small team of experts offering services related to eLearning content creation, internet and database consulting and IT training.
