USIT -- University of Salzburg Iris-Toolkit v1.0

This is "The Multimedia Signal Processing and Security Lab", short WaveLab, website. We are a research group at the Artificial Intelligence and Human Interfaces (AIHI) Department of the University of Salzburg led by Andreas Uhl. Our research is focused on Visual Data Processing and associated security questions. Most of our work is currently concentrated on Biometrics, Media Forensics and Media Security, Medical Image and Video Analysis, and application oriented fundamental research in digital humanities, individualised aquaculture and sustainable wood industry.
This is USIT Version 1 — Version 2 is located here

USIT - University of Salzburg Iris Toolkit v1.0 is a Windows/Linux software package for iris recognition, made publicly available together with the book:

C. Rathgeb, A. Uhl, and P. Wild. Iris Recognition: From Segmentation to Template Security, In Advances in Information Security 59. Springer, New York, 2012. ISBN: 978-1461455707

The software package includes algorithms for:
  • Iris Preprocessing
  • Feature Extraction
  • Feature Comparison
USIT is based on easy-to-use command line tools (input and output relies on files). In order to download USIT follow the link on the bottom.

Book Abstract: Iris Biometrics: From Segmentation to Template Security provides critical analysis, challenges and solutions on recent iris biometric research topics, including image segmentation, image compression, watermarking, advanced comparators, template protection and more. Open source software is also provided on a dedicated website which includes feature extraction, segmentation and matching schemes applied in this book to foster scientific exchange. Current state-of-the-art approaches accompanied by comprehensive experimental evaluations are presented as well. This book has been designed as a secondary text book or reference for researchers and advanced-level students in computer science and electrical engineering. Professionals working in this related field will also find this book useful as a reference.
