Project Description

This is "The Multimedia Signal Processing and Security Lab", short WaveLab, website. We are a research group at the Computer Sciences Department of the University of Salzburg headed by Andreas Uhl. The short name "WaveLab" already indicates that wavelets are among our favorite tools - we have 15 years of experience in this area. Our research is focused on Multimedia Security including Watermarking, Image and Video Compression, Medical Image Classification, and Biometrics.
   

Automated Hardness Testing using Image Processing and Computer Vision Methods (VisHard)

 

Project Description:

VisHard (FFG Bridge 2 project 822682) is a project on applying advanced image processing and vision techniques for automated hardness measurement. Materials’ hardness can be determined by measuring the dimensions of indentations generated by standardized sources. Pictures of indentations are taken by a camera and analysed using vision techniques tailored specifically to the hardness measurement problem. This project is conducted in cooperation with EMCO TEST.
